Que Viva El Peru!

Que Viva El Peru! is an infographic examining the mass emigration of Peruvians in the 1970s and how it resulted in New Jersey having the highest concentration of Peruvians in the United States of America.

Through several hours of research, the creation of a variety of graphs, and a collection of key facts and testimonials, I weave a story of Peruvian emigration in three parts.

The first part tells the tale of a country in turmoil and the people who fled, while the second part takes a look at Peruvian populations in the United States to pinpoint where the biggest concentration of them landed, and the third part shows why so many Peruvians had fled and congregated in New Jersey.

Being Peruvian myself, I opted to use this 3-part structure in order to encapsulate the visuals within the Peruvian flag and add some visual flair.

Measuring at 30 x 20 inches, this infographic is meant for people to walk up to and take a closer look.
